Email to the White House
Joseph Yi sends a diplomatic yet firm email to the White House amid chaotic events
Dear Mr. President: My family and I support you and pray for you.
I am not interested in assigning blame with regards to your recent meeting with the Ukraine President.
Signing the minerals deal, or any deal that continues US engagement in Ukraine, is in the best interests of the US, Ukraine, and the free world. We then need to effectively negotiate a peace agreement that preserves Ukraine sovereignty.
In the long term, freedom wins: look at North Koreans desperate to come South.
I thank US Presidents Truman and Eisenhower for preserving freedom in South Korea (however corrupt at the time) and allowing the possibility of future unification.
I pray you will do the same for the Ukrainian people.
Joseph
