Heterodox Asians

Heterodox Asians is a blog maintained by Dr Joseph Yi and Frances An, both members of Heterodox Academy East Asia (HxEast Asia), the East Asia community of Heterodox Academy (HxA). They are a group of academics and university students concerned with the state of academic freedom in the East Asia region. This blog showcases reflections and analyses on HxEast Asia issues such as academic freedom in parts of Asia, gay Christian professors in South Korean universities, university censorship in Hong Kong, Asian-American issues, and many more.

HxEast Asia’s coordinators are Shaun O’Dwyer and Joseph Yi. O’Dwyer teaches in the Faculty of Languages and Cultures at Kyushu University in the south-west of Japan. Yi is an associate professor of political science at Hanyang University.

NOTE: This blog is not an official product of HxA or HxEastAsia. Posts reflect the views of individual authors only.
